Yesterday marked the conclusion of another successful year of BCC’s Career Bridge/Mentorship Program — and we celebrated with a special luncheon for our participants! Now in its ninth year, this program connects students from our partner schools with local business professionals, offering valuable mentorship and career insight. It’s all about building bridges between education and industry, and this year’s mentors went above and beyond. Katy Johnson, Allied Machining and Engineering – New Philadelphia Patrice Yacko, Dover Chemical – Dover Michael Lauber, TuscoMFG – Indian Valley Garry Sears, Eleet Cryogenics – Tusky Valley Thank you to the staff members and administration at each school who help coordinate these meetings and to the students for participating!

It's mace day for our Law Enforcement students! This controlled mace training exercise allows students to fight through the effects to subdue a simulated offender and successfully place them in handcuffs before receiving medical care. This exercise builds more than just tolerance — it teaches composure under pressure, tactical decision-making, and a deep respect for the power of the tools they may one day use. Thanks to our medical students for assisting with the aftercare!

Quote of the day
At BCC, every student has the opportunity to become CPR certified. We believe this skill is important enough for every student to earn, and this past weekend, Teaching Professions senior Rhegan Kohl put her skills to use! Rhegan was at a local business when a customer fell, hit her head, and became unresponsive. Rhegan jumped into action and began CPR until first responders could arrive. We are #BuckeyeProud of Rhegan for saving a life!
