Crew Foreman - Golf Course Maintenance

Full Job Description:

The Golf Course Maintenance Laborer is responsible for assisting in the daily upkeep and maintenance of the golf course to ensure high-quality playing conditions and a safe, attractive environment for golfers.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

·       Maintain the overall appearance and safety of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and surrounding areas.

·       Perform edging, weed eating, trimming, and blowing of all necessary areas.

·       Assist with sod installation, irrigation repairs, and drainage projects.

Parts, Inventory & Facility Management

·       Operate and maintain hand tools and maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.

Operations & Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to evaluate equipment condition and determine repair, replacement, or upgrade needs.

  • Report equipment misuse or abuse to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.

  • Assist with daily operations and mowing activities as needed to support course maintenance.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance department.

  • Ensure equipment and shop operations comply with applicable safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

o   Experience as a golf course mechanic or in small engine, diesel, or turf equipment repair.

o   Strong mechanical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

o   Ability to stand for extended periods of time

o   Ability to lift to 50 pounds

o   Outdoor, hands-on role requiring work in varying weather conditions.

o   Physical demands include walking the course, lifting materials, and operating maintenance equipment.

o   Schedule varies seasonally based on course conditions and play volume.

Purpose & Scope:

This position exists to ensure that all products assembled and shipped from the New

Philadelphia Bearing Plant meet customer expectations for quality specifications,

including documentation and certification

 Essential Responsibilities:

 Visually and dimensionally inspect product for conformance to specifications.

 Set up and adjust gauges for checking product using masters and hand tools.

 Verify machine set-ups per engineering specifications.

 Ensure accuracy of product identification/marking.

 Ensure accuracy of production transactions.

 Conduct government audits, source inspections, as well as incoming and

outgoing audits.

 Ensure accuracy of all required documentation including Blue Books and all in-

process documentation, as required by the Company, the customer and/or the

United States Government.

 Adhere to all safety standards.       

 

Technical / Functional Skills Required:

 Strong reading, comprehension, and attention-to-detail skills.

 Solid communication, teamwork, and organization skills.

 Basic shop math skills.

 Basic computer skills, including web page navigation.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 High School Diploma or GED.

 18 years of age or older.

 2 or more years of relevant experience.

 Grinding/machining education.

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

 5 or more years of relevant experience.

 2 years of precision grinding/machining experience.

Position Summary:

Timken is seeking a dedicated and skilled Grind Operator to join our team. This position

exists to ensure that all products finished ground, assembled, and shipped from the

New Philadelphia Bearing plant meet customer expectations for performance.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

•    Proper setup of grinding cell(s) including all adjustments necessary, either manual or

programmed, to grind product to specifications.

•    Manually load work pieces to and from shoes, chuck, etc.

•    Transport tooling, equipment, and materials to and from work areas.

•    Ensure accuracy of visual checks for surface defects and dimensional conformance

to specifications.

•    Measure, pack, and/or ship completed product.

•    Ensure accuracy of production transactions.

•    Take corrective action as necessary to ensure continuous production of quality

product.

•    Adhere to all safety standards.

 

Basic Qualifications: 

•    2 or more years of precision grinding/machining experience

•    High School Diploma or GED

•    18 years of age of older

•    Must be eligible to work in the US

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

•    5 or more years of precision grinding/machining experience

•    Strong reading, comprehension, and attention to detail

•    Solid communication, teamwork, and organization

•    Mechanical knowledge

•    Problem-solving
