It's official! We held our groundbreaking ceremony this evening for the new medical facility addition to BCC! We look forward to this project being finished by the start of the 2025-26 school year. The space will house our Intro to Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, and Medical Assisting programs while also providing a clinic space for use by our students, staff, and the community! The September Adult Education Student of the Month is Medical Office Support student, Capri Barnhart. Barnhart is a graduate of New Philadelphia and attended BCC for Graphic Arts. Barnhart chose to enroll in the program because it’s a field she is interested in and it is a field that will always be in demand. She is also intrigued by the remote job opportunities in the healthcare industry. Barnhart is married to her husband Matt and they have two animals.

Earlier this week, our Level Two Medical Assisting students got hands-on experience learning how to sterilize medical equipment.

Congrats to September Student of the Month Drew Fox!
Fox is an Electrical Systems Technology senior. He attends BCC from Claymont, where he is a varsity football player. He is involved in SkillsUSA at BCC and serves as his lab’s Buckeye Ambassador. His lab instructors, Mr. Jeremy Burdick and Mr. Tim Septer, nominated Fox. “Drew’s dedication to academics is evident in his enrollment in multiple challenging courses. Beyond the classroom, Drew actively participates in sports and serves as a positive role model for his peers,” commented his instructors. Following graduation, Fox plans to become an electrician. He is the son of Brandie and Matt Fox.

Congrats to September Student of the Month Nevaeh Phillips!
Phillips is a Hospitality and Culinary Arts senior. Phillips attends BCC from Newcomerstown. She is a Buckeye Ambassador and a member of Buckeye Buddies and FCCLA. At Newcomerstown, she has been involved in cheerleading for 12 years. Phillips works at Spark Hotel by Hilton and hopes to continue working in the hospitality field following graduation. Her Hospitality instructors, Mrs. Debbie Ganyard and Mrs. Jill Young nominated Phillips. “Nevaeh worked hard over the summer to complete her academics so she could double-lab this year. She works independently with any task and can be trusted to complete the task to the employer’s and her teachers’ specifications,” said Ganyard. Phillips is the daughter of Elizabeth and Dustin Phillips.
