February’s Adult Education Student of the Month is Chapin Greer, of the Heavy Equipment/ CDL A program. Greer is a graduate of Sandy Valley and attended RG Drage during high school. He is employed at Alborn Excavating. He enrolled in the course to get more seat time in

equipment and to obtain his CDL. Greer was nominated by his instructor Don Young. “Chapin is an outstanding student who always wants to learn more,” commented Young.

We are celebrating January and February's Student of the Month winners at tonight's Board of Education meeting.
January’s Adult Education Student of the Month is Chad Shaner of the HVAC-R program. Shaner is a Fairless High School graduate and works at ABC Technologies/DLHBowles. He enrolled in the program to advance his skills for work as an HVAC technician. Shaner is married to his wife Tessa.

The third high school winner is Sean Lawrence. Lawrence is a double lab student at BCC, enrolled in the CAD Development & Design and Precision Machining labs. He attends BCC from Newcomerstown. Lawrence is a 12-year member of Boy Scouts and is an Eagle Scout. His CAD instructor, Mr. Tim Sheehy nominated him for the honor. “Sean goes above and beyond doing design work for other students and off-site endeavors, on top of his school work,” said Sheehy. Following graduation, Lawrence plans to obtain a full-time engineering design job, with hopes of also attending college. He is the son of Gabe Lawrence and Katie Lawrence.

The second high school winner is senior Jacky Lopez, of the Business & Marketing lab. Lopez attends BCC from Dover. Lopez is on the Dover Track & Field team and was a longtime member of the Dover orchestra. At BCC, Lopez is a two-year member of BCC’s National Technical Honor Society and Buckeye Buddies. She has competed at regionals and qualified for state twice while competing in BCC’s Business Professionals of America club. “Jacky strives for perfection in everything she does, and her perseverance is admirable,” commented her Business & Marketing instructor, Mrs. Heather Irwin. Upon graduation, Lopez plans to study social media and digital marketing online through Grand Canyon University while working part-time. She hopes to become a social media manager for a sports team. She is the daughter of Maria Lopez and Enrique Velasquez Castro.

Senior Meat Cutting student Adryanna Meek is our first recipient. Meek attends BCC from Garaway and is employed at McDonald’s. She was nominated by her Meat Cutting instructor, Mr. Scott Ripley. “Adryanna goes above and beyond to get orders finished quickly and correctly,” said Ripley. Following graduation, Meek hopes to obtain full-time employment and own her own house. She is the daughter of Robert Meek. Congrats!
