In addition to CTE Month, this week, we also celebrate school counselors! National School Counseling Week 2026 runs Feb. 2-6, 2026, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems. This year's theme is "School Counselors Amplify Student Success," presented by ASCA.
We are thankful for the selfless work of our three counselors, Mr. Ken Stocker, Mrs. Jennifer Robinson, and Mrs. Stacy Ionno! #BuckeyeProud!

BCC was recently asked to submit student testimonials to the Ohio ACTE Career and Technical Education in preparation for this week's legislative seminar in Columbus. We are proud that the organization chose to highlight our Edgar Allison (Fire/EMS and Business/Marketing) and Zoe Jump (Exercise Science)! Thank you to these students for working with our marketing department to submit the materials. We are #BuckeyeProud of you, and we can't wait for legislators to learn about you this week at the seminar!

Career & Technical Education Month celebrates opportunity in action!
Ohio Career Technical Centers are expanding to meet the needs of students, employers, and communities—supported by millions of dollars in state, local, and federal investment. Funding for new programs, modern facilities, and industry-grade equipment is helping students train for in-demand careers right here in Ohio. Every dollar invested in CTE strengthens the workforce and fuels long-term economic growth.
BCC is proud of our latest expansion, the medical facility addition, and we look forward to continued growth in the coming year! #CTEMonth #NextReady #CareerTechOhio

Today, we wrap up our School Board Recognition Month posts with our newest member, Mr. Eric Kinsey! As the newest board member at BCC, we asked Mr. Kinsey to tell us more about himself.
"My family and I are lifelong members of the Indian Valley school district community. I have had the privilege of serving on the school board for over ten years, and my wife, Bobi, and I reside in the Tuscarawas area with our four sons: Max, Grady, Jack, and Cy. In addition to our involvement with the school district, we own and operate Kinsey Excavating & Trucking, Harvest Utility, and Kinsey Farms. We take great pride in our deep roots within this community and look forward to working with Buckeye Career Center."
Thank you to Mr. Kinsey for his willingness to serve BCC and IV, and welcome to the Buckeye family!

Did you hear the news?
BCC has received grant funding to help CDL students earn a Class A or B CDL license! This funding is provided through the Commercial Truck Driver Student Aid Program, administered by the Ohio Department of Higher Education! Qualifying students will receive 50% of their CDL training costs covered by grant funds, with the remaining 50% provided as a state loan. The loan portion, administered by the state of Ohio and a promissory note, will be fully forgiven if the student works as a commercial driver for at least one year after earning a CDL!
