Congrats to our Adult Education Student of the Month for May, Hunter Dials! Dials is in our Welding Technology program. Dials is a West Holmes graduate and is employed at Weaver Leather. Dials enrolled in the program to further his welding skills and will start a new job in the metal shop at Weaver Leather, following graduation. His instructor, Mr. Marvin Menefee, nominated Dials for the honor. “Hunter is a pleasure to have in class. He works hard, has great attendance, and is always willing to help others,” commented Menefee. He will be honored at this evening's Board of Education meeting!

Congrats to our second high school Student of the Month, Pharmacy Technician and Business & Marketing double lab senior, Joshua Lehman! Lehman attends BCC from Tusky Valley. At BCC, Lehman is a two-year member of Drug Free Clubs of America and HOSA Future Health Professionals, and a one-year member of Business Professionals of America. Currently, he serves as a HOSA officer and is a national qualifier this year. He also volunteers for Tuff Bags. Lehman’s Pharmacy Technician instructor, Mrs. Michelle Loibl, nominated him for the honor. “Josh is a great leader, motivating students and ensuring their well-being. He goes out of his way to help juniors feel welcome in HOSA,” said Loibl. Following graduation, Lehman plans to join the workforce and potentially start his own business. He is the son of Kelly and Geoff and the stepson of Jason and Lisa. He will be honored at this evening's Board of Education meeting.

Congrats to our first May Student of the Month, Cosmetology senior Cambrielle Baker! Baker attends BCC from Claymont, where she has been a two-year member of student council and a one-year member of Sigma-Tri. At BCC, she is a two-year member of the National Technical Honor Society and Drug Free Clubs of America. She participates in SkillsUSA and interns at Hair Studio 227. She volunteers at 5 Loaves & 2 Fishes and Hennis Care Centre. Baker’s Cosmetology instructors, Mrs. Zimmerman and Mrs. Roden, nominated her for the honor. “Cami’s drive to succeed is unmatched. She is focused and always willing to learn more.” Following graduation, Baker plans to continue her education and wants to own her own salon. She is the daughter of Carissa and John Baker. She will be honored at this evening's Board of Education meeting.

Our Career Connector, Mrs. Beaber, recently visited New Philadelphia South Elementary with a few of our students to engage with 3rd graders. These young learners participated in fun, hands-on activities that introduced them to various careers and sparked excitement about their futures.

Our FCCLA members celebrated a successful year with the organization's annual end-of-year banquet this morning at Dutch Valley! They celebrated senior members in Hospitality, Teaching Professions, and Culinary Arts! The group also honored Assistant Principal Julie Brinkman, who will retire at the end of this school year!




Congrats to our Buckeye Business Academy at East Holmes students who competed at BPA Nationals! Marissa Montanez, Naomi Crossan, Deborah Erb, Mosheh Crossan, Caleb Hershberger, Jenna Troyer, and Business & Marketing’s Ava Starner earned fourth place in Parliamentary Procedure Team, while Marissa Montanez also placed 10th in Parliamentary Procedure Concepts. Additionally, the following students placed in the top 10% of competitors in open concept events: Marissa Montanez, Caleb Hershberger, Naomi Crossan, Jenna Troyer, and Mosheh Crossan.

Next, we congratulate our Business & Marketing students who placed at BPA Nationals over the weekend! Madison Harmon claimed first place in Fundamental Word Processing and Danny Dews earned first place in Personal Finance Management! Additionally, Ava Starner competed in the Parliamentary Procedure Team event with our Buckeye Business Academy students and earned fourth place! (Picture to come in next post). Congrats to these students!



Recently, Career Connector Mrs. Beaber, along with a group of our students, hosted a career carnival at New Philadelphia West Elementary. During the trip, 4th-grade students had the opportunity to explore a variety of careers through hands-on activities, helping them begin to think about their future paths.
