New Philadelphia, OH (January 20, 2026) - Buckeye Career Center (BCC) has named the January Student of the Month recipients. Two high school students were chosen for the honor for demonstrating January’s core value of critical thinking. An Adult Education student was also named for the honor.

The first high school winner is Robin Stevens. Stevens is a double lab senior, enrolled in Electrical Systems Technology and Commercial Truck Technology. He attends BCC from New Philadelphia. He participates in SkillsUSA at BCC and works at Pit Stop Performance in New Phila. Stevens was nominated by his Electrical instructor, Mr. Tim Septer. “Robin has distinguished himself through the remarkable ability to bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical application. He approaches every assignment as a complex puzzle requiring systemic analysis,” said Septer. Following graduation, Stevens plans to attend the Universal Technical Institute in North Carolina and will enroll in the Auto Tech. and NASCAR program, lasting 63 weeks. Stevens is the son of Rob and Christina Stevens.

The second high school winner is Teaching Professions senior Bailey Winkhart. Winkhart attends BCC from Tusky Valley. She is a member of BCC’s National Technical Honor Society and Tusky Valley’s National Honor Society. Winkhart works at the New Phila Sheetz and is a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Mineral City. She was nominated by her instructor, Mrs. Melissa Long. “Bailey is a natural teacher and leader. Bailey is a direct communicator which leads to quick resolution of any issues that arise with others. She goes above and beyond in the classroom,” commented Long. Following graduation, Winkhart plans to attend Kent State University and will major in middle childhood education with concentrations in math and social studies. Winkhart is the daughter of Elizabeth Wilson and Christopher Winkhart.

January’s Adult Education Student of the Month is Crimzen Christmas. Christmas is enrolled in the Esthetics program. She resides in Coshocton and is a graduate of Newcomerstown High School and attended BCC. Christmas is an independent provider for Coshocton County and volunteers for the Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities. She is also a dance teacher at Studio 3 in Newcomerstown. Christmas enrolled in the Esthetics program to earn her license so she can eventually own her own spa and be a traveling make-up artist. Her instructor, Ms. Larissa Seikel nominated her for the honor. “Crimzen is always friendly and willing to learn. I am excited to watch her grow in her career after graduation,” said Larissa. Christmas is the daughter of Debbie and Corey Christmas.

They will be honored at the January 20, 2026 Board of Education meeting.
