New Philadelphia, OH (September 16, 2026) – Buckeye Career Center (BCC) has once again earned an overall five-star rating on the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce’s Career Technical Planning District (CTPD) Report Card, marking the third consecutive year BCC has received the state’s highest overall rating. The annual report card measures the performance of career-technical planning districts in four key areas: Achievement, Career & Post-Secondary Readiness, Graduation Rate, and Post-Program Outcomes. This year, BCC significantly exceeded state standards overall and met eight of nine federal indicators.
Highlights from BCC’s 2025-2026 Report Card include:
Achievement – 4 Stars: BCC exceeded state standards in technical and academic achievement. Students achieved an 87.2% Technical Skill Attainment rate.
Career & Post-Secondary Readiness – 5 Stars: BCC significantly exceeded state standards with a 117.0% Career & Post-Secondary Readiness score. This component measures how well students are prepared for future opportunities, including entering the workforce or continuing their education and training.
Graduation Rate – 5 Stars: BCC significantly exceeded state standards with a 97.5% four-year graduation rate and a 96.8% five-year graduation rate.
Post-Program Outcomes – 5 Stars: BCC earned a 97.2% Post-Program Placement rate, significantly exceeding state standards. This component measures the proportion of students who are employed, participating in an apprenticeship, joining the military or a service program, or continuing into postsecondary education or advanced training within six months of leaving school.
The five-star designation continues a three-year streak of top overall ratings for Buckeye Career Center and reflects the work of students, staff, administration, support personnel, community and industry partners, and the BCC Board of Education. BCC Superintendent Mr. Bob Alsept credits the continued success to the collective efforts of the Buckeye Career Center community. “Earning a five-star rating for the third consecutive year is something our entire Buckeye Career Center community can be proud of,” said Alsept. “Our students and staff work hard every day, and these results demonstrate our commitment to preparing students for successful futures. We are especially proud that our students are not only graduating at a high rate, but are leaving Buckeye prepared to enter the workforce, continue their education, or pursue additional training.”
