New Philadelphia, OH (September 15, 2026) – Buckeye Career Center has named three Student of the Month recipients for September. Two high school students were chosen for the honor for demonstrating September’s core value of Responsibility/Accountability. An Adult Education student was also named for the honor.

The first high school recipient is Hospitality senior Amanda Benningfield. Benningfield attends BCC from Garaway. At BCC, she is a two-year Buckeye Ambassador and is in her second year as a member of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). She is employed at McDonald’s. Benningfield’s Hospitality instructors Mrs. Beans and Mrs. Young nominated her for the honor. “Amanda comes to school with a smile on her face every day. She encourages and helps her classmates with a willing heart,” commented Beans and Young. Following graduation, Benningfield hopes to take fire and EMS courses at BCC through the Adult Education department while continuing to work in food service. She is the daughter of Christine Moore and Donald Swegheimer.

The second high school recipient is Construction Technology senior Bryce Baranack. Baranack attends BCC from New Philadelphia. At BCC, he is involved in SkillsUSA, and outside of school, he works at Sifferlin’s Pet Center. Baranack was nominated for the honor by his Construction Technology instructor, Mr. Brandon Begue. “Bryce is a leader among his classmates and can always be counted on to stay on task and complete his assigned work. He takes pride in doing things correctly,” commented Begue. Upon graduation, Baranack hopes to work in the construction field. He is the son of Abby Baranack.

September’s Adult Education Student of the Month is Esthetics student Cadence Beckett. Beckett, of Dennison, graduated from Quaker Digital Academy and works at Park Village Healthcare. Three years ago, Beckett wanted to enroll in the program but says she never had the chance. She is excited to finally be enrolled in the course. Beckett’s Esthetics instructor, Ms. Tabitha Eideh, nominated her for the recognition. “Cadence goes the extra mile when conducting demonstrations. She shows great initiative,” said Eideh. Upon graduation, Beckett plans to save her money, gain experience, and eventually start her own esthetics business.

The three will be honored at the September Board of Education meeting.
