New Philadelphia, OH (September 3, 2026) – Buckeye Career Center has announced that the Buckeye Biddy Cross Country Race, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 3, 2026, has been postponed due to extreme heat and a heat advisory issued for the area.
The free community cross-country event has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026, on the Buckeye Career Center campus in New Philadelphia. All aspects of the race will remain the same, including registration, race times, activities, and course details. Day-of-event registration begins at 4:15 p.m., with a DJ and inflatables kicking off at 5:00 p.m. Race times are as follows:
5:30 p.m. – Pre-K through third-grade girls
5:50 p.m. – Pre-K through third-grade boys
6:10 p.m. – Fourth- through sixth-grade girls
6:30 p.m. – Fourth- through sixth-grade boys
Each runner will receive a complimentary hot dog, drink, and commemorative finisher medal. This year's medal celebrates Buckeye Career Center's 50th Anniversary. The top 10 finishers in each race will receive additional medals, and the top scoring teams will receive trophies. Race Penguin will once again serve as the event's official timing company.
The unique cross-country course winds throughout the Buckeye Career Center campus and is designed and prepared by students in the Energy Operations program. Runners will travel across open grassy areas, around student-maintained ponds, through a wooded—but clearly marked—section of the course, and back onto paved pathways before crossing the finish line. BCC students and staff will serve as course monitors throughout the event. Refreshments will be provided to runners at the finish line, and participants are invited to explore career connections activities hosted by BCC students. A concession stand will also be available inside the school cafeteria.

Those who registered for the September 3rd date do not need to register again. Registrations transfer to the new date.
