New Philadelphia, OH (December 5, 2025) - Seven cadets were celebrated at Buckeye Career Center (BCC) on December 5, 2025, as BCC honored graduates of its Adult Education Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA). Family members, local agencies, and community leaders gathered to recognize the group’s achievement and dedication to public service. This is the first LETA class to be held at BCC since the 2022-2023 school year.
BCC Director of Curriculum, Instruction, & Adult Education, Mr. Frank Polen, opened the ceremony by commending the graduates. “We honor not only their completion of the academy but their clear commitment to service,” Polen said. “Throughout the program, their dedication has been evident, and it’s inspiring to celebrate alongside their families, community leaders, and the officers who helped guide them.”
The evening featured remarks from Assistant Director of Adult Education Mr. Steve Rippeth and the administration of the Ohio Peace Officer Oath by BCC LETA Commander Mr. David Dobbins. Each graduate was then formally presented and recognized.

• Rhett Allyn Usternul, Wooster Police Department
