New Philadelphia, OH (October 7, 2025) – More than 1,000 sophomores from Tuscarawas, Carroll, and Holmes counties will visit Buckeye Career Center (BCC) November 3–7, 2025, to explore future career paths during Sophomore Career Exploration Days.

The annual event gives students the opportunity to tour Buckeye Career Center and experience five of its 30+ high school career-technical programs. According to Shyanne Carroll, BCC marketing coordinator, the event is part of an intentional effort to help students connect classroom learning with career goals. “We begin introducing the idea of Buckeye and career exploration in elementary and middle school,” Carroll explained. “By the time they visit as sophomores, they’re starting to think seriously about what comes next. Seeing our students in action, meeting instructors, and exploring our updated labs helps them make an informed decision and get a head start on their future.”

Throughout October, BCC marketing representatives are visiting partner schools to preview available programs and prepare sophomores for their visit. During their on-campus experience, students will enjoy hands-on activities in each lab and receive a complimentary lunch. Programs available for exploration include: Agriculture & Diesel Technology; Auto Collision Repair; Auto Technology; Business & Marketing; Computer-Aided Design (CAD); Commercial Truck Technology; Computer Technology & Network Systems; Construction; Cosmetology; Culinary Arts; Dental Assisting; Electrical Systems Technology; Energy Operations; Exercise Science & Sports Medicine; Fire/EMS Technology; Floral Design & Greenhouse Management; Graphic Arts; Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC-R); Hospitality; Intro to Nursing; Landscaping & Turf Management; Law Enforcement; Masonry; Meat Cutting, Deli & Bakery; Medical Assisting; Natural Resources; Outdoor Power; Pharmacy Technician; Precision Machining; Project Lead The Way/Engineering; Teaching Professions; Utility Lineworker; and Welding.

Interested sophomores should contact their school counselor to register. Home-schooled and digital students may call 330.339.2288 or email scarroll@buckeyecareercenter.org to reserve a spot.
