GRADS

GRADS is an instructional and intervention program for pregnant and parenting students as a supplement to their daily class schedule. Students, both male and female, learn about healthy pregnancies and labor and delivery, learn positive parenting skills in relation to their child's development, and learn how to manage the aspect of being a parent while still attending school.

GRADS students are also active with the Reading Is Fundamental Program. Children of GRADS students receive free children's books that encourage literacy in the homes.

GRADS is offered not only at Buckeye Career Center, but also the associate middle and high schools located in the district. The GRADS teacher travels to the schools and provides information and resources for those students involved.  Contact instructor Sue Satter, ssattler@buckeyecareercenter.org, 330-339-2288, ext. 254 for more information.

The GRADS instructors and teen parents are available to present teen pregnancy prevention programs to middle/high school students in area schools and to community groups. Anyone interested in having the pregnancy prevention program should contact the GRADS office.
