Employability and Career Safety

Employability is the study of the elements and procedures necessary for a student to find a job. The student will study employer expectations, create resumes and sample cover letters, complete written and online applications, practice interviewing techniques, study business etiquette.

Student handouts and materials will be used. Students will be expected to use computers to create resumes and cover letters and to complete applications and assignments.

In Career Safety, students complete online presentations and assessments to gain work related skills for entering, competing and advancing in a changing work world.

Students will obtain the 10 hour OSHA certification card required by most employers.

This safety certification is recognized by many area employers.
