GED 2014 Changes:
Are you ready to take the GED Test? The new test is computer-based and is offered here at Buckeye
Career Center in our Testing Center. If you are an Ohio Resident, your first step is to have an Ohio GED
Safe Account. Go to the following website, https://safe.ode.state.oh.us/portal/ and have your Ohio
License or State ID readily available. After you have created your Safe Account, you will then need to
create an account through GED Testing Service. Go to https://ged.com/ to create your GED Account
profile. If you don't have an email account, they will prompt you to create one. It is suggested that a
Gmail Account be created for the quickest and safest access.
The cost for GED 2014 is $120 total, or $30 per content area. (Reasoning through Language Arts, Math
Reasoning, Science and Social Studies) The state of Ohio has a voucher system available to aid first time
test-takers with the increased cost. If you are interested in finding out how to save $80 as a first time
test taker, it is as easy as talking to a Career Counselor at Buckeye Career Center and receiving a voucher
number that will be used during your sign up process. For more information about the Voucher process
and for more information about rules and regulations regarding the Voucher process contact our Testing
Center Coordinator, John Barr, at 330-308-5720 ext. 1562 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Buckeye Career Center is located at 545 University Dr. NE, New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
