The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC)
is the nation's leading industry-led, standards, training, assessment and certification organization focused on the industry-wide core technical competencies needed by the nation's front-line production and material handling workers. The federal National Skill Standards Board (NSSB) officially recognized MSSC in 1998 as the "Voluntary Partnership" for Manufacturing under the bipartisan National Skill Standards Act of 1994. MSSC issues the Certified Production Technician (CPT) and Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) certifications. They are the only credentials accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under ISO Standard 17024 for both manufacturing and logistics. MSSC delivers its training materials and assessments through a nationwide infrastructure of over 1000 authorized instructors and 580 test sites, mostly at community colleges and high schools. To date, MSSC has issued over 52,000 credentials.
