Position Title: Circuit Rider and General Safety Coordinator
Reports To: Member Training and Safety Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Basic Function: Serves as a trainer, and technical advisor to member communities for the Circuit Rider program, safety programs, and special projects.
1. Provides contract services via the Circuit Rider program in such areas as: maintaining and operating an electric utility system; organizing or reorganizing an electric department; assisting in budgeting, record-keeping and system planning; recommending consultants; training personnel.
2. Provides hands-on training in operations of distribution systems.
3. Provides safety education and OSHA driven annual training for lineworkers at select member communities on a routine basis.
4. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
High school diploma; two-year technical degree desirable.
Must be a Journeyman Lineperson.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and electric utility industry NESC and NFPA 70E experience is preferred.
Must be self-motivated, detail and team oriented, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have a CDL license and be willing to travel approximately 90% of the time.
A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience is preferred.
Experience in a municipal environment strongly preferred.
Public speaking experience a necessity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, primarily PowerPoint is preferred.
Ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs is required with the ability to occasionally lift/move equipment that weights 200 lbs.
